Traditional Chinese Medicine

Winter 2021

Winter is cold.

Winter is storage.

Winter is dark.

Winter is hibernation.

In Chinese Medicine, ideal health can be nourished if we move with the flow of the seasons.

Very briefly:

In Winter we pause.

In Spring we begin to grow.

In Summer we act.

In Fall we begin to collect.

What balances chaos?

Stillness.

So for the rest of this winter, if all you want to do is:

Pause.

Reflect.

Internalize.

You don’t have to feel guilty. You don’t have to feel unaccomplished. And you don’t have to be another voice in the noise.

Be in the deep inhale. Await the long exhale.

And embrace the seasonal flow.
